St. Salvator’s Church:

Heritage Week Talk by Revd Tim Irvine (17 August, 12pm – 1pm) in St Salvator’s Church, Castle Leslie Demesne, Glaslough, Co Monaghan, H18 HV49.

“What do Oscar Wilde, Lord Alfred Douglas and John Henry Newman have in common with Shane Leslie?
All of them were devout Anglicans who converted to Catholicism.
The talk by the Reverend Tim Irvine explores Shane Leslie’s conversion to Catholicism and how the architecture of St Salvator’s reveals something of Shane Leslie’s spiritual journey.”

St Maudain’s Church, Errigal Truagh:

Heritage Week Talk  The Diaspora of Errigal Shanco and Errigal Truagh (19 August, 8pm – 9:30pm) in St Maudain’s Church, Errigal Truagh, Mullanderg, Emyvale, Co Monaghan, H18 NH68.

“Ethne McCord will conclude her research recording the old homesteads of the families who once attended Errigal Shanco and Errigal Truagh churches. Her journey around the parishes will end at the Monaghan/Tyrone border near Clara.”

Light refreshments will be served afterwards.
